From our fields to your table

What's in the shop, and how we do things

Everything on our shelves comes from our land or from folks nearby we trust. The selection changes with the season, because that's how a farm works. Here's what you'll usually find when you stop by.

Call the shop

A shop that follows the seasons

We don't chase year-round sameness. When the tomatoes are on, the shop is full of them. When the fields rest, the shelves lean on eggs, preserves and whatever the root cellar held back. If you grew up eating with the calendar, this will feel familiar.

Most of what we sell was picked the same day you buy it, or close to it. We can tell you which row it came from, when it went in the ground, and what's coming next. That's the whole idea behind a farm shop — short distance between the field and your kitchen.

You'll find us at 1760 Woodville Rd. Pull in, take your time, and ask us anything. Talking about food is half the job.

What we offer

Stock shifts with the weather and the harvest, but these are the staples of the shop. If you're after something specific, a quick call saves you a trip.

Seasonal produce

Vegetables and fruit picked at their moment, not before. Summer means tomatoes, sweet corn, peppers and squash; cooler months bring greens, roots and storage crops. Whatever is in the ground that week is what's on the table, and it's priced fairly for food this fresh.

Farm eggs

Eggs from hens that spend their days outside, gathered fresh and brought straight to the shop. The yolks stand tall and taste the way eggs used to. They move fast, so if eggs are the reason for your trip, ring ahead and we'll set a dozen aside.

Baked goods

Breads and simple baked goods made with honest ingredients and no fuss. The kind of loaf that makes toast worth sitting down for, and treats that belong next to a pot of coffee. Selection varies day to day, and the good ones go early.

Preserves & pantry

When the harvest outpaces the table, we put it up. Jams, pickles and canned goods carry a bit of the season into the months when the fields are quiet. Shelves also hold pantry staples we trust and use ourselves, so you can leave with supper, not just vegetables.

Local goods from neighbors

Some things we don't make ourselves but wish we did — honey, maple goods, cheeses and the like from producers nearby whose work we respect. We stock what we'd put on our own table, and we're glad to tell you about the folks behind each one.

Advice across the counter

Not sure what to do with a kohlrabi, or when to plant your own garden rows? Ask. We've spent enough seasons in this soil to have opinions, and sharing them is free with every visit. A farm shop should feed your curiosity as much as your pantry.

How a visit works

Step 1

Come by the farm

We're at 1760 Woodville Rd, easy to find and easy to park. If you'd like to confirm we're open or check what's in stock before you drive out, call us at +1 419-917-1706.

Step 2

See what's in season

The shelves reflect the week, not a catalog. Walk the shop, ask what's just come in, and let the season plan your meals. It usually plans better than we do.

Step 3

Take the farm home

Load up on what looks good, grab a jar or a loaf for later, and head home knowing where every bite came from. Then come back when the next crop turns.

Questions we hear a lot

Do you have set opening hours?

Hours shift a little with the seasons and the work in the fields. The surest way to catch us is to call +1 419-917-1706 before you head out — we'll tell you exactly when the shop door is open that week.

Is everything you sell grown on your farm?

Most of it, yes. The produce and eggs come from our own land and animals. A few items — like honey, cheese or maple goods — come from neighboring producers we know and trust, and we're always upfront about which is which.

Can I call ahead to reserve items?

Absolutely. Popular items like eggs and fresh bread sell through quickly, so a quick call to +1 419-917-1706 is the best way to make sure we set something aside with your name on it.

What should I expect in each season?

Spring brings greens and early crops, summer is the abundance of tomatoes, corn and peppers, autumn means squash, roots and preserves, and winter leans on storage crops, eggs and the pantry shelves. Every visit is a little different, which is the fun of it.

Can I bring my kids to the shop?

Please do. Kids who see where food actually comes from tend to eat their vegetables with a lot less argument. We're happy to answer their questions too — they're usually the best ones we get all day.

Where exactly are you located?

You'll find us at 1760 Woodville Rd. If you're having trouble spotting the place, just give us a ring and we'll talk you in — we're used to it, and we don't mind.

Come see what the season brought in

The shelves are never the same two weeks running, and that's the best reason to stop by often. Call ahead, or just pull in off Woodville Rd and say hello.
